Women, Marriage, and Family

Bishop Lawson's ecclesiology was distinguished by his views on women in ministry and his interpretation of scripture concerning marriage and divorce. Though his views were not unique to him, Lawson's work cannot be truly appreciated without understanding his views on women, marriage and family in the context of America's then-ongoing transition from the Victorian family model to a post-modern moralism.
